Giant starships transport these huge mechanized strip mining robots to distant worlds, where they process valuable ores and minerals. Every 12 months or so, retrieval ships are sent to unload the processed materials and carry out repairs. They have been vital in providing the United Earth Federation with the materials needed to feed a growing Empire.
24 x 30 (610 x 762mm) primed canvas. Acrylics are used for the majority of the painting with a small brush and occasionally a permanent marker used for detailing.

Description
In early 2024 I found myself remembering a series of books I borrowed from my local library around 1989/81. They were large glossy hardbacks with an assortment of artwork, collected together and presented as if they were historical accounts of future technologies and conflicts.
I loved them. I managed to find one or two, which I’ve kept ever since. But only now have I decided to try and emulate the incredible art kept between those well sifted pages.
So here are a series of pictures, inspired by the Terran Trade Authority books from the late 1970’s/80s…a bit of Spacey fun!!!
